History of Christ Church

History of Christ Church

This booklet traces the history of Christ Church from 1872.  It's available for just £5.

In this sixty page A5 booklet we discover how a meeting on 7 August 1869 in a house called Inglewood, which is now part of Bullers Wood School in Chislehurst, led to the opening of a new church in 1872.  The history traces Inside no pewsthe life of the church through ten incumbents, from the original building through to the integrated church centre that we have today.  The place that Christ Church has taken in the community over 150 years is also described, including the history of the Camden Chislehurst Mission that it sponsored in inner London for over 70 years up to 1958.

This booklet will appeal to those with connections to the church as well as historians locally and further afield.  It's on sale on the church bookstall, price £5.  Alternatively, hit the red 'I'm interested buton' and it'll bring up an email that you can send us and we'll post you a copy.  You can pay by transferring £6.50 (to include post and packing) to the church's account (details below) - but please remember to send the email as well, as otherwise we won't know where to send it!
